WBU Suet Cakes

Suet is a high-energy, pure fat substance that is invaluable to birds.  Suet has a texture that the birds enjoy and is preferred by birds over rendered beef fat, which is the main ingredient in other brands of suet cakes.  Our suet cakes are made only of pure rendered beef suet and loaded with lots of yummy ingredients, and birds such as woodpeckers, chickadees and nuthatches love to eat it. Offering suet at a backyard feeding station is a great way to attract a wide variety of insect-eating birds. Birds that eat suet will still find natural food sources such as insects, insect eggs and grubs to get a well-rounded diet.  Since suet can be messy to put into the cages, try freezing the suet before putting it in the feeder. This will make the cake contract, allowing it to fit in the cage more easily and reduce waste. To avoid the mess of melted suet, offer suet when temperatures are below 35°C and no-melt suet dough when seasonal temperatures are above 35°C.  Try any of the below suet cakes with our WBU Suet Feeders.

We’ve reached our highest level of fats and protein by blending rendered beef fat, mealworms, roasted peanuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts and calcium. Added hot pepper deters critters from stealing from your birds. Birds can’t get enough of this ultimate suet blend. 

Approximately 90% of Eastern Gray Squirrels and Red Squirrels do not eat WBU Hot Pepper Products. There is also evidence to suggest that WBU Hot Pepper Products are effective at deterring a variety of mammals including, but not limited to, Fox Squirrels, Eastern Gray Squirrels, Red Squirrels, rabbits, rats, mice, White-tailed Deer, Mule Deer, raccoons, opossums and skunks. Chipmunks are a bit more challenging as they have fur-lined cheek pouches which seems to act as a barrier to the effectiveness of the products.
