Growing up in downtown Toronto, Cameron’s introduction to nature was exploring High Park. He spent many days enjoying nature in the park’s beautiful surroundings. His love for the outdoors was also fostered in trips with his family camping and travelling to specular natural places including across Canada, the US and the British Isles.

Cameron’s love for the outdoors and wildlife led him to another passion; travelling. Cameron has travelled throughout North, Central and South America, Australia and Southern Africa in search of cool places and interesting wildlife in its natural habitat. In addition to birds, Cameron enjoys seeking out reptiles and amphibians in the field.   

Always game for a new adventure Cameron has gone diving with Great White Sharks, wrangled pythons in Australia, enjoyed boat rides deep into the Amazon and completed a rugged 16 km self-guided hike along the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica into Corcovado National Park. Next on the bucket list is to see wild Orangutans in Borneo.

Since opening WBU Barrie in 2012, Cameron has learned lots about his backyard birds and enjoys sharing the bird feeding hobby with his daughter on a daily basis. In his free time Cameron enjoys spending time with his wife Kristen and daughter, finding any excuse to watch sports (in particular football, hockey and golf), travelling, golfing and scuba diving.
